FEAST OF ST. CESAREA - PORTO CESAREO

August 21 to 24 a suggestive patron saint's feast held in honour of Saint Caesarea whose most characteristic festival feature is no doubt the procession by the sea.

With a lavish religious ceremony, the statues of Our Lady of Perpetual Help, patroness of Porto Cesareo, and the statue of the Holy Virgin Caesarea are carried by different boats with a spectacular procession. There will be moments of games with game of plenty, fireworks, shows of water and lights of dancing fountains that takes place in the marina in the picturesque views of the Island of Rabbits. Salento food is not be missing and is cheered by the unfailing traditional pizzica music. The beautiful and evocative lights are the background to the scenario of this traditional patron saint's feast.
